Kagome’s famous brand “Yasai Seikatsu”

Speaking of Kagome, older generations will be reminded of tomato ketchup. Many people think of juices and sauces when they think of Kagome. Among them, the vegetable juice brand “Yasai Seikatsu” is a long-selling product launched in 1995.

By adding the lineup of smoothies, products with this name are so wide and there is almost no day that I do not see one.

Kagome Yasai Seikatsu Farm, an attraction facility with the name “Yasai Seikatsu”

Kagome Yasai Seikatsu Farm Fujimi is located in Nagano Prefecture. It is a facility with good access, about 7 minutes by car from the Chuo Expressway “Suwa Minami IC” or 6 minutes from Fujimi Station on the Chuo Main Line. This is a hands-on “vegetable theme park” created by Kagome. You can take a tour of the factory where you can learn about the history and specialties of Yasai Seikatsu 100, and experience harvesting tomatoes, corn, etc. At the farm shop, you can purchase limited-edition original goods and vegetables. It seems that summer is the main harvest experience (tomatoes, corn, sweet potatoes, etc. from July to October), but you can also experience harvesting sunny lettuce, broccoli, green peppers, etc. in winter. Also, just looking at the vast 10-hectare field with Yatsugatake in the background will make you feel good.

What caught my eye at the farm shop was a vegetable called Kalish. Kagome developed this hybrid leafy vegetable from radish and kale. It looks like arugula, but it has a milder taste with no particular pungent taste. It is especially compatible with oil, and the umami increases.

Kalish is rich in sulforaphane, a substance found in cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli. This ingredient has strong antioxidant power and detoxification, so it may be useful for various disease prevention and anti-aging. Let’s use the power of vegetables well!
